Fostering Nurturing Homes

The Challenge

For various reasons, some children and young people cannot live with their own families.

That’s where Carolina House Trust in Dundee comes in, providing safe and nurturing homes to help them thrive and reach their potential.

But, with a national shortage of foster carers, the Trust is eager to highlight the rewards and dispel the myths around fostering, to encourage new potential caregivers to come forward and promote best practice.

The Solution

Since 2024, I have been supporting the award-winning Trust with its communications, celebrating achievements on everything from inspections and best practice to innovative training and family support. Together, we have also shaped creative and heartfelt storytelling with both carers and young people in both the local and national press.

To address the caution and sensitivities around young people in care, I also provide sessions to support staff and carers with their press and media engagement.

Last but by no means least, I support the Trust with award entries, identifying opportunities and maximising their success.

The Impact

Since coming on board, I have raised the profile of Carolina House Trust significantly, both on a local and national level, as well as in their specialist sector press.

Our ongoing working relationship also allows us to identify and maximise opportunities and discuss potential challenges and solutions.
